On the Trail of UFOs: Night Visitors (2022) Film Review

The always reliable Small Town Monsters crew, headed up by filmmaker Seth Breedlove, delivers another thought-provoking look into high strangeness with their latest release, On the Trail of UFOs: Night Visitors. This time, Breedlove and fellow researcher/podcaster Shannon LeGro head to Colorado to interview subjects about their experiences with the mystery of cattle mutilations and the high rate of UFO sightings in the state, focusing on the San Luis Valley.

The follow-up to last year’s On the Trail of UFOs: Dark Sky, [[https://www.whenitwascool.com/on-the-trail-of-ufos-dark-sky-2021-film-review]] this new documentary finds LeGro and Breedlove interviewing ranchers about their personal experiences with mutilated cattle, and locals about their alien abduction and UFO-sighting experiences. As always in Small Town Monsters documentaries, the interviewees are treated respectfully and allowed to share their stories without ridicule, and plenty of local color about the area is presented.

Breedlove and company take a Fortean approach to this installment. Rather than taking one side or another, they present what witnesses perceive to be facts and allow viewers to come to their own conclusions. Because the mystery of cattle mutilations is still unsolved and controversial, the filmmakers don’t pretend to provide a definitive answer.

Small Town Monsters films are always top-notch in the way of production values, and On the Trail of UFOs: Night Visitors continues the tradition. Fans of high strangeness, paranormal phenomena, and well-made documentaries should find it an intriguing watch.

On the Trail of UFOs: Night Visitors debuts on major streaming platforms on April 5th, 2022, from 1091 Pictures, including iTunes, Amazon Prime Video, Vudu and FandangoNOW.
